Another sizzling day for Karachi, other parts of Sindh

KARACHI: The Sun continuing to blaze down on Wednesday as mercury likely to touch 40 degrees centigrade, however, no heatstroke cases have been reported in the city hospital in previous two days, ARY News reported.The meteorological department has predicted mainly dry and hot weather in Sindh and southern parts of Balochistan while the maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 39 to 41 degrees Celsius on Wednesday (today).The department said that hot continental winds were behind the extreme weather conditions which will continue to blow in Sindh including its provincial capital city on Wednesday turning whether hot and dry.Some 22 people fell unconscious in Dadu district, being theĀ hottest place in the country yesterday beside Nawabshah.On Tuesday, the minimum temperature in Karachi was 21.5 degrees and maximum 40 degrees centigrade with humidity, or the amount of moisture in the air, at 10 per cent. The maximum temperature in the city on Monday was 40.5 degrees centigrade.In Padidan, Mithi, Moenjodaro, Chhor and Jacobabad, the mercury surged to 45 degrees Celsius on; Hyderabad and Larkana (44 degrees Celsius) and in Sukkur, Larkana and Badin the maximum temperature was 43 degrees centigrade.In Karachi, all hospitals remained on high alert to take care of the patients suffering from heatstroke.On Monday, Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar had briefed that the city government has established some 12 centres in KMC hospitals for heatstroke patients.
