Shahbaz opposes confrontation with US

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said there was no need to confront with the , rather the conflicts should be resolved through talks and both of the countries should maintain good ties with dignity.“Pakistan should settle issues with the US in accordance with its own circumstances,” he said while addressing a ceremony held to distribute compensation cheques among heirs of the police martyred in Arfa Kareem Tower blast in Lahore.Provincial ministers and high officials were also present on this occasion.On this occasion, he paid tribute to the martyrs who laid their lives for Pakistan, specially the victims of Arfa Kareem Tower blast as according to intelligence agencies they were main target of the blast.He said heirs of the martyrs would be given a house and one of their family members would be given employment in government departments.Shahbaz said the way police and other institutions were fighting against terrorists was laudable and their sacrifices would not go waste.The CM said it was unfathomable that how population of Sindh and Punjab has become less than expected in the census, however, he maintained, census was a sensitive issue, hence it should not be made controversial and if anybody had any issues he should hold talks to get his reservations addressed.He said if any corruption was found during his tenure he was accountable for it before the masses. He said he saved millions of rupees of public exchequer.
