LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) is all set to hold sit-in at Mall Road’s Istanbul Chowk on Wednesday (today) to demand justice  for victims of Model Town incident, despite Lahore High Court (LHC)’s orders debarring the party for sit-in.Demanding justice for families of Model Town victims, PAT has made all arrangements to hold sit-in. Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed will also take part in the PAT’s protest and he has reached the provincial capital besides Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) lending its support for the sit-in.On the flip side, the LHC and the city administration earlier this week denied permission to for sit-in by ordering the PAT to abide by the laws till the final verdict comes out regarding the 2014 Model Town incident. However, PAT contended that the rally is to be as per schedule whether it receives permission or not.On Tuesday, PAT leader Noorullah Siddiqui said that the protest is to be held by the family members and it would be a peaceful protest. On the court orders, he said that party’s counsel would appear before the court to make an appeal.Meanwhile, PAT chief Qadri’s container along with other apparatus shifted to the venue of sit-in in Lahore in the wee hours of Wednesday. On the other hand, LHC will hear a petition filed by representatives of business community against PAT’s sit-in in the provincial capital.Last week, the PAT chief announced that families of Model Town massacre and party workers will gather on Lahore’s Mall road on August 16 (Wednesday) to demand publication of Baqir Najafi Commission report. READ MORE :
