World Thalassemia Day being observed today

KARACHI: World Thalassemia Day is being observed today (May 08). The day is aimed at creating awareness among people about the lethal disease.
Meanwhile, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is also being observed on Monday, May 8. Its objective is to acknowledge the services of volunteers all over the world.This year’s theme of the Day is ‘Together for Humanity’.Message of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif

In his message on Thalassemia Day, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that Thalassaemia is a fatal disease and patients suffering from it deserve special attention.He stressed the need for effective awareness campaign to prevent the lethal disease.He said diagnosis of Thalassaemia and provision of standard medical facilities is among the priorities of our government. –SAMAA/app
